Isola delle Rose or island of Roses – a small island in the Venetian lagoon, a few kilometers from Venice, artificially created in the mid-nineteenth century. At first it was used as a warehouse, in the beginning of XX century here was built the hospital. Before the first world war it was transformed into a tuberculosis sanatorium, which in different variations and intermittently worked until the early 80-ies of XX century.
