From 19 to 22 November in the Venice Giorgio Cini Foundation hosted the annual Congress of members of the Association The Leading Hotels of The World, uniting more than 450 luxury hotels worldwide. In addition to discussions of current issues in the hospitality industry, during the Congress was the presentation of awards to the best representatives of LHW.
Award Commitment to Excellence Awards traditionally awarded to those hotels whose concept of service is beyond the scope of the standard. Taken into account and a positive effect on their environmental, social and cultural activities. This year the winners were The Gleneagles Hotel (Perthshire, Scotland), Taj West End (Bangalore, India), Hotel Okura (Tokyo, Japan).

A five-star resort hotel under the brand JW Marriott has opened in the Venice lagoon at the end of June. Isola delle Rose or island of Roses – a small island in the Venetian lagoon, a few kilometers from Venice, artificially created in the mid-nineteenth century.
